Dana Humphrey is the lead Marketing and PR Consultant at Whitegate PR with experience publicizing small and large businesses, artists, musicians, authors and non-profits in the U.S. and abroad, with a specific focus in consumer, professional services and retail industries.

After working “in-house” in San Diego and New York, for Muttropolis, Great White Wines and Women For Hire, Dana absolutely has a “can-do” attitude and enjoys juggling many projects simultaneously.

Dana leads public relations, blogger relations, media relations and marketing initiatives-both on and offline; orchestrates special events and delivers campaign analysis for her varied clients around the globe.

As an older sister of one, she is a natural leader and go-getter! Dana’s recent community leadership roles include: PRSA-NY International Volunteer Committee in 2009, Ideablob Guest Advisor in 2009 and Miss. Can Diego in 2007 and 2008. This year she is an Associate Board Member of the American Cancer Society in Brooklyn.

Dana graduated from San Diego State University in the honors program, with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations and a minor in Political Science. After traveling to 40+ countries and living in five, she currently resides in Astoria, New York and identifies as a global citizen.


Tracey Dewland, PR Intern

Tracey Dewland is a senior communication and Spanish major at DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana.  Although originally from the Washington, DC area, she recently returned from a semester studying abroad in Barcelona, Spain, where she was able to develop her Spanish language skills and become immersed in a new and exciting culture.  At DePauw Tracey is an active member of her sorority and has held many leadership roles within this organization.  She has also been a DJ for her university’s radio station for the past three years.  Tracey has a passion for public relations and event planning and also values the importance of working with a small and personalized company such as Whitegate PR.  Her experiences with and interest in other cultures combined with her liberal arts education give her a well-rounded perspective in relation to communication and public relations pursuits.  Tracey is very excited to be living in New York City and be able to experience a vibrant community where people from all different cultures come to live and work together.

Maria Villena is an ambitious and eager New Yorker with a Bachelor of Science in Communications Media. At the NY Liberty, Community and Public Relations Department, she was a key contributor to the Madison Square Garden Sports blog and website.  She effectively handles press inquires and plays an essential role in fan and media relations.

While at Fitchburg State College she was well known as a student leader.  Involved in Student Government for all four years she ultimately became President of the Student Body. Maria is continually recognized for her leadership – with several leadership awards, including one presented at her commencement ceremony for outstanding leadership through out her college career.

Maria has a passion for good pubic relations and pop-culture.  She is intrigued by new trends in social media, and is dedicated to great customer service.

Hilary Franklin, PR Intern

Hilary Franklin
Hilary Franklin is a senior Public Relations major with a minor in
psychology at Hofstra University. At Hofstra, Hilary is an active PRSSA
member and account executive for the on campus agency, PRestige. She is
also co-lead for a committee that is planning New York State
Communications Associations conference for 2011.
Originally from Boston, MA, Hilary enjoys lives in different places around
the world and experiencing new places. She is happy to be in the New York
City area and hopes to see as much as she can.
 Hilary has a passion for public relations and event planning. She has an
interest in social media campaigns and is always looking for the new
social media outlet.
